Operation Clearwater 2008 Test Results

It is generally recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency not to swim in water containing enterococci counts that a single sample result of more than 104/100 CFU's. Thus counts that exceed 104/100 ml are highlighted in red. For more information about the EPA method and interpretation of results, visit this EPA document (page 24 explains CFU's). Anne Arundel County Health Department advises against swimming for 48 hours after a heavy rain.

The South River is having a green algal bloom this week.  A few counts are a bit elevated, but no real problems.
