
Executive Director, Matt Berres
The South River Federation Board named Matt Berres as its first Executive Director on February 20, 2008. Matt comes to our organization with over six years of river and leadership experience with the Potomac Conservancy. During these six years, Matt helped the Conservancy grow from a three-person shop to a $1.2 million dollar operation.
Most recently Matt has been Grounds Department Manager for Greenbelt Homes and responsible for the care of a 250-acre residential community, which as a result of his efforts now has several demonstration rain gardens and a rain barrel purchase program. At the same time he has been enrolled at Johns Hopkins University for a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management. He will complete this degree in 2008.
“Matt is very highly respected in the Maryland watershed community and the Board is extremely pleased that he will be leading our organization,” said Kincey Potter, Board President. “He is the perfect person to take the South River Federation to the next level.”

Program Coordinator, Cindy Wallace
Cindy came to the Federation in early 2005. She moved to Annapolis from South Carolina and has experience working with non-profits, large corporations and also served in the United States Navy. She has formal education in horticulture and exersise physiology. She brings a variety of skills to the organization and contributed greatly to moving the Federation from an all volunteer to a staffed organization. Cindy has had a life-long passion for the out doors and conservation. She lives on Harness Creek and is dedicated to the mission of the Federation.
