Josh Cary

Josh graduated with a B.S. in Environmental and Natural Resources and a concentration in Conservation Biology from Clemson University. In both coursework and research, his focus was in stream fish ecology and community dynamics. While at Clemson, he was involved in many research projects where he developed skills in experimental design and data analysis.

Kevin Green

In August of 2017, Kevin Green stepped in to lead the Federation as interim executive director, after Kate Fritz, left the Federation to head the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. Kevin has been an active South River Federation volunteer since 2005 and is committed to a grassroots approach to improving water quality by engaging and encouraging community participation in watershed restoration. 

Jesse Iliff

Jesse Iliff is an attorney who obtained his juris doctor with a certificate of concentration in environmental law from the University of Maryland, Carey School of Law. A native of Arnold, Maryland, Mr. Iliff interned with the Office of the Attorney General's Environmental Crimes Unit while studying for the bar exam before litigating a variety of cases in state and federal court after entering private practice in 2010.

Suzanne Martin

Suzanne has 18 years experience in fundraising, primarily in the education and environmental arenas. She has worked at private independents schools, Johns Hopkins University, Wichita State University, the Jane Goodall Institute and most recently at The Key School in Annapolis.

Jennifer Carr

Jennifer graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Geography and a minor in Environmental Science.  After graduation, she worked for an AmeriCorps non-profit in Baltimore, interned with the International Rescue Committee and taught in a rural village in Serbia.   After returning home, Jennifer joined the Chesapeake Conservation Corps with the Chesapeake Bay Trust and was placed with the South River Federation until November 2011.

Jaclyn Fisher

Jaclyn started out with the Federation as the 2016-2017 Conservation Corps Volunteer and stayed on after finishing the program in August.

Nancy Merrill

Nancy Merrill is a recent transplant to the shores of the South River although she grew up as a river rat on the nearby Severn River. fishing, crabbing, and in general messing about on boats. She has worked as an environmental educator for Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Friends of the Rappahannock. 

David Lanier

David Lanier is a recent graduate from Towson University, where he earned a degree in environmental studies with a focus on policy and management. 

Sarah Giordano

Sarah Giordano signed on as a Chesapeake Conservation Corps volunteer after graduating from Washington College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, a minor in Anthropology, and a concentration in Chesapeake Regional Studies. She was later hired on to assist the Federation in collecting and analyzing water quality data.
