Josh graduated with a B.S. in Environmental and Natural Resources and a concentration in Conservation Biology from Clemson University. In both coursework and research, his focus was in stream fish ecology and community dynamics. While at Clemson, he was involved in many research projects where he developed skills in experimental design and data analysis.

Josh is a native to Crownsville and grew up in the headwaters of the South River. He has an innate appreciation of the river and its tributaries, which is where he spends most of his free time fishing and exploring.

In 2015, Josh began working at South River Federation as a summer restoration intern and helped develop and lead the fish monitoring effort. He continued to assist the restoration team during his winter and summer breaks while he finished his degree. Josh now works as an assistant project manager on the restoration team utilizing his experience as an intern to better the South River.
